Downtown Omaha Inc and Central High Cleanup
Chairperson: Roger Humphries
Phone: 402.390.3180
Email:

Downtown Omaha Inc. and Central High School have worked together, which was a result of the City of Omaha, DOI, and Central High meeting and coming together on a project that would involve students from CHS in the downtown area in a positive way. The committee works with Central High School officials and students to ensure that the cleanup goes as planned.

Central High School students gather at the school around 8:45 a.m. to pick up gloves and bags supplied by Keep Omaha Beautiful. They canvas downtown Omaha for trash. Ollie the Trolley volunteers to pick-up and drop-off students/volunteers as they move through the downtown area. Trash is left on street corners, which are then picked up by members of Carpenters Union Local 444. The trash is taken to locations on the Creighton Campus who allows DOI/Central High to use their dumpsters. At 11:30 a.m., all students/volunteers meet back at Central High School for pizzas donated by Old Chicago Pizza located in the Old Market.
